Services
Transportation
Transportation for charter schools is provided according to the home district from which the student attends. Students within the RCSD must live 1.5 miles or further from their school to receive transportation.
Uniforms
Uniforms are part of Rochester Prep’s policy. New students receive two shirts and additional are available for purchase.
School Services
Rochester Prep provides free breakfast, lunch, and snack to all students.
Students in grades K-8 have all school supplies provided to them. Chromebooks are also provided to each student for in school use.
Every campus has a dedicated nurse, social worker, and special education team focused on supporting the health and wellness of all students
Instructional Models
Our students engage in cross-cultural studies each year starting in Kindergarten. We teach our students to value themselves and each other. We ask them to read diverse authors, to debate their ideas in class, to engage with global issues during and after school, and to be part of a strong community. We develop our students’ voices not only because they will need them to succeed, but because the world needs to hear them.
Academic Offerings
Rochester Prep offers a wide range of Advanced Placement Courses, technology-based courses, as well as other unique classes to challenge and expand your child’s mind and skills. We are pleased to offer formal special education programs to students who may need additional support or are English Language Learners. Our goal is to ensure every child has the tools needed to succeed.
Rochester Prep remains the largest (serving 33% of all charter school students) and the highest performing K-12 charter school in Rochester. The number of Rochester Prep elementary and middle school students that were proficient in the most recently published 2024 math New York state test was 3.73 times the percentage of Rochester district students that were proficient. Further, the percentage of Rochester Prep proficient students was higher than New York State.
The number of Rochester Prep elementary and middle school students that were proficient in the 2024 ELA (English Language Arts) New York state test was 2.33 times the percentage of Rochester district students that were proficient.
Of our 100 seniors, 24 are “Promise Scholars” or students who have been with Rochester Prep since Kindergarten. 99% of the Class of 2025, 99% were accepted into 4-year colleges. Twenty-three (23%) of those seniors are the first in their family to attend college.
Since our first high school graduating class in 2018, we’ve matched 15 QuestBridge scholars who receive full-ride scholarships to 52 of the most competitive universities in the nation.
Academic Performance
At the elementary school level your child will establish a strong academic foundation while developing a love of learning.
In middle school your child will begin experiencing more advanced coursework while developing independence and exploring their individual passions.
When your child reaches the high school level of education the diverse and rigorous curriculum is designed to prepare students for the demands of college and beyond. Your child will be empowered to develop their leadership capabilities both in the classroom and in the real world.
Clubs and Activities
Being a full K-12 program, Rochester Prep has a lengthy list of clubs and offerings that are updated every year.
Each of our campuses has a unique offering for students including but not limited to Student Council, Odyssey of the Mind, Robotics, Choir.
Community Partnership Programs
Rochester Prep High School is proud to partner with the Rochester Institute of Technology! Professors teach classes, college students mentor our students, regular field trips to RIT campus, and Senior Capstone projects, are just some elements of this wonderful partnership.

Arts & Engineering: Four pathways – Digital Design, Fine Arts, Robotics, and Theatre
HS Programming: Students explore interests including mock trial, baking, social justice, and podcasting
