Academy of Health Sciences Charter School (AHS) prepares students for success in Rochester’s #1 jobs industry – Health Sciences!  AHS students learn through student-led, project-based activities, and graduate ready for college and career. AHS is a free, public charter school. We eagerly welcome all students including those with special needs and English language learners. Be empowered – NOW!

Transportation

All students eligible for district busing will receive busing.

Uniforms

AHS has a dress code in order to create a safe and orderly learning environment, instill pride in our school community, and eliminate the competition and distraction caused by varied dress styles. The dress code includes: 

  • AHS shirts – all students must wear AHS shirts, available for purchase starting at $5 each. Non-AHS shirts are not allowed.
  • Black, khaki, gray, or navy pants
  • Comfortable shoes or sneakers

School Services

Free breakfast and lunch daily. Full-time school counselor.

Instructional Models

At AHS, our exciting science-themed learning exposes students to new skills and interests. Students learn through field trips, technology, and more. Teachers communicate frequently with parents and parents are involved in events throughout the year!

Daily academic reading and math intervention, special education services, and other individualized supports to ensure all students succeed.

Enrichment classes daily in PE, Music, Art, and Health Sciences. Modified sports including Girls and Boys Basketball, Track, and Cheer!
