Instructional Models
Exploration uses a hands-on approach to learning. In addition to this, we incorporate center-based learning activities whenever possible.
Exploration uses Core Knowledge Language Arts 2.0 (CKLA) for Reading instruction and Eureka Math for Math instruction.
i-Ready Diagnostic Assessments are given three times a year for both Math and Reading as well as two growth checks a year. Exploration’s instructional team uses the diagnostic data to create smaller instructional groups to provide increased intervention to help students achieve their academic goals.
To further support our Explorer’s in their social-emotional well-being, the DESSA-mini is completed three times a year. The Restorative Center Team then uses the data from the DESSA to create smaller groups to provide increased intervention to support the student’s social emotional needs.
