General Information
RocSci is a tuition-free, college preparatory school. Our mission is to provide an excellent K-12 academic experience that ensures all students are prepared for college and careers of the highest potential as academically, socially, emotionally, and physically well-rounded and contributing citizens.
Our program offers a STEAM-infused college preparatory curriculum, character development and social-emotional learning. Our teachers receive ongoing professional development and use data-driven decision-making to provide instructional support for students.
RocSci has a partnership with the Eastman Museum that provides our students with access to the museum and involves project-based learning.
RocSci is part of the Buffalo Academy of Science Charter Schools, one of the top-performing charter schools in New York. 100% of our graduates are accepted into college.

Services
Transportation
Transportation is provided by the home district of each student. Transportation is provided to all RCSD students who live more than 1.5 miles from the school.
Uniforms
Students are required to wear the RocSci uniform. All students receive two free RocSci uniform shirts and are able to purchase additional shirts from our vendor.
School Services
Students receive free breakfast, lunch and snacks.
Every student receives a chrome book to use in class.
Instructional Models
RocSci offers a variety of instructional models to ensure that we are meeting the needs of every student. Examples include the use of small group instruction, whole-class direct instruction, and experiential learning. Our curriculum is STEAM-infused beginning in kindergarten. Every day our students receive social emotional learning, which includes beginning each day with a community circle in class.
Academic Offerings
Our curriculum offers a wide range of courses in the humanities and STEAM fields with a strong alignment to NYS subject standards, and allows for differentiated instruction within each classroom. Differentiated instruction allows our teachers the flexibility to meet and respond to the individual needs of each student. Our high school offers a variety of Advanced Placement Courses.
Clubs and Activities
RocSci offers a robust list of clubs and activities! These can include, but are not limited to, theater, music, dance, engineering, computer science, and a variety of sports. Clubs run from October to May, Monday-Thursday, from 3:15 to 4:15.
Community Partnerships
RocSci is proud to have a partnership with the George Eastman Museum which provides our students with many opportunities, including project-based learning!
